the FCC likes it if you use a GMRS-specific radio. i alwaysliked the
UV-82 and the GMRS-V2 that's based off it is nice, but it lookslike

tbh though if you're going to put one in your car (or maybe onyour
desk) all the mobiles are junk, especially at the price they'resold,
and it's really not worth paying premium for them when you canget a
Motorola XPR model on eBay (search for like 'motorola XPR 403'or
something) in the same sort of $180-220 range. pretty mucheveryone ends
up with one of those motorolas

the transmitter for our local Fox TV affiliate WUTV ch. 29.) alive
with chatter this morning. So I keyed up an introduced myself.
